Occupational Hygiene Services
- Carried Legal Appointment Regulation 12.1 ( Occupational Hygienist/Ventilation)
- Actively participate in all safety, health and Environmental programs
- Ensure all working areas are audited
- Ensure that audits are conducted as per DME requirements
- Submit all relevant reports to DME as per requirements
- Ensure effective ventilation and occupational hygiene control and reporting
- Monitor the overall operati on of the section and take corrective action if needed
- Receive shaft schedule and compile shaft blasting schedule, confirm schedule and distribute to relevant stakeholders
- Plan air census and brief relevant staff on procedures to be followed
- Identify su ccess of air measurements and reschedule if necessary
- Conduct air balance, record the results and submit for approval and obtain explanation for variances
- Ensure compliance to relevant standards, policies and procedures, as well as legislative requiremen ts
- Ensure that operating standards and procedures are appropriate, clearly understood and adhered to
- Compare the Fire Equipment Audit Plan against the Mine Standard.
- Establish procedures, in line with organisational and legislative requirements
- Guide and develop practices in line with applicable standards, regulations, Safety Policies and Codes of practice
- Ensure that all Ventilation activities are performed in line with the Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Act,
- ODMWA, COIDA, Water and Envir onment and Pollution Acts and DME guidelines
Enviromnental Services
- Oversee field examinations and report hazardous locations and materials.
- Maintain management information systems that identify the location of hazardous sites, chemical inventories, and complaint investigations.
- Develop and recommend solutions to eliminate pollution and environmental hazards.
- Design and implement effective employee training programs.
- Collect and analyze test samples of food, soil, water, and air.
- Perform research and report your findings on the current environmental conditions.
- Prepare clear and detailed written reports about field inspections.
- Implement spill prevention programs and hazardous waste regulations.
- Supply, installation, monitoring, report of fall out dust
Mining Engineering
- costing and organising supplies
- planning and implementing extraction systems.
- assessing the feasibility of new sites
- managing budgets
